History

In 1987 Frank Martin founded McDonald Capital Management, a subsidiary of McDonald & Co., a brokerage firm with which he had been associated since 1974.  While the new company got off to a promising start, Frank soon realized that the only way to establish an exceptionally strong organization was to become independently owned and directed.

Frank renamed the firm Martin Capital Management in 1991 and shortly thereafter created a partnership structure that allowed him to share ownership with other members of the investment team. More recently, in the interest of maximizing performance, better serving investors, and attracting the brightest investment minds, Martin Capital Management underwent restructuring to become a privately held company rather than a partnership.  Now with an esteemed board of directors who collectively understand and share MCM's long-term vision, the firm is solidly positioned to find the best opportunities for clients while providing a strong margin of safety to protect against permanent loss of capital.
